Local Development Scheme

The Local Development Scheme (LDS) sets out the programme for producing a new Mole Valley Local Plan. It includes a timetable for the key stages (including consultation periods) over the period 2016 to 2018.

The latest Local Development Scheme was approved on 22 March 2016 (see 'Downloads').  This Local Development Scheme supersedes all previous versions.

Mole Valley will start charging the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) on 1 January 2017. To support the new Local Plan, the Community Infrastructure Levy is likely to be reviewed. Therefore, details of the programmes for both the 2016 version and its review are included in the Local Development Scheme for information.

In March 2016, a national Local Plans Expert Group published its report to the Communities Secretary and to the Minister of Housing and Planning with recommendations about how local plan making can be made more efficient and effective.  Any changes in national guidance on Local Plan preparation, arising from those recommendations, may have implications for the process set out in this Local Development Scheme.
