Funding and Grants

There are a variety of community funding and grant opportunities available from Mole Valley District Council (MVDC) and other bodies. Grants will be considered from organisations which deliver valuable services to Mole Valley residents and support Council priorities.

Who can apply?

Community and voluntary organisations and charities

Community and voluntary organisations and charities, village hall associations

Organisations benefiting residents of Leatherhead, Ashtead, Bookham and Fetcham

What can be applied for?

Revenue costs, e.g. activities, events, running costs, publicity, equipment, start-up costs.

Capital costs, e.g. new play equipment, community building improvements

Capital and revenue costs for the general benefit of the inhabitants of Leatherhead, Ashtead, Bookham and Fetcham

How much can be applied for?

Up to £5,000

Recommended up to £25,000

Recommended up to £25,000

What is the application deadline?

Quarterly: 30 June, 30 September, 29 December, 30 March 2018

When will I know if my application is successful?

By the end of the month following the application deadline (July, October, January, April)

When will the payment be made?

Following confirmation of the success of your application

After April 2018 and on completion of project and receipt of invoices

Capital applications: After April 2018 and on completion of project and receipt of invoices

Priority will be given to organisations which:

  • show they will deliver improvements in at least one of the Council priority areas
  • show they have community support
  • work collaboratively with other agencies, organisations and individuals
  • raise funding through as many sources as possible
  • demonstrate that a grant will help to attract or unlock funding from other sources

The Council will not normally provide support to organisations with unencumbered reserves (i.e. savings unaccounted for) exceeding 50% of annual running costs.
