Youth Showcase Awards 2018
The Youth Showcase Awards 2018 hosted by Mole Valley Youth Voice and supported by Mole Valley District Council (MVDC) celebrates the achievements of young people in the district and those working with young people.
The evening will present an array of award presentations and performances from local artists.
Awards in Volunteering, Teamwork, Sport, Creativity and Outstanding Achievement plus an additional Junior Youth Voice Specialist Award will be presented to winners from each category. The winning nominees will be chosen by Youth Voice Councillors - the nominations are strong, they will have some tough decisions to make this year!
The audience will be entertained with a dazzling line up of performances from local artists see the line up below.
The Dlionz dance squad from Dandelions Theatre Arts was formed a year ago by a group of the Theatre's students who wanted to stretch themselves a little more. They will bring a medley of music through the ages including classical and dubstep!
Josh Suggitt aka The Town Crier singer and musician who is extremely passionate about listening to, playing and writing music will be performing covers from popular artists including Mumford and Sons, Imagine Dragons and Kaleo.
Rebecca Harris national Open Mic UK finalist will be performing an eclectic range of music from artists such as Andra Day, Adele and Demi Lovato. She is currently working towards her Grade 7 singing exam.
Crystal, a musician, actress and songwriter will be performing her own songs and covers of artists including Cosmo Pyke and Lin-Manual Miranda
Ryan Burman, Leatherhead singer and songwriter has been playing the guitar and singing from an early age. His music is influenced by Ben Howard, John Lennon and Bob Dylan and he will be performing his own songs. His debut EP 'To be continued ' was released in August 2017.
Charlie Taylor from the Royal Ballet School in Covent Garden will be performing a short Ballet composition.
Every year the Showcase supports a local charity, this year it is Dorking Minds a local charity that provides help and training on mental health issues, click here to visit their website. They will have a stand offering information to anybody attending the event.
Community Fridge of Dorking will also be at the event they will be presenting the award for volunteering, they are a volunteer group who promote reducing food waste in the area.
The event will begin at 7.30pm on the 23rd of March.
