Bookham

Bookham Common

The Common comprises both Little Bookham and Great Bookham, both of which are home to 16th and 17th century houses. The churchyard at Little Bookham has in it a vast yew, said to be 900 years old. The area is popular with wildlife enthusiasts, and Bookham Commons which are a Site of Specific Scientific Interest combine grassland, woodland, scrub and pondlife. To the south of the main ponds is an arboretum, home to 70 of the trees and bushes found on the Common, each clearly labelled. Off the road between Great Bookham and Leatherhead is Bocketts Farm Park, a working family farm open to the public.
