A Friends Group has been set up to protect and develop the future of the King George V Playing (KGV) Fields in Dorking.
The Friends Group aims to encourage the use of the playing field as a meeting place for friendship, recreation, events, activities and play by involving individuals and the surrounding communities to make the field a pleasant friendly place to meet, use and visit.
King George V Playing Fields
The King George V Playing Field is a registered charity gifted by King George V to the residents of Mole Valley in 1950 and is one of 452 KGV Fields in the UK. It is a protected playing field, to serve the purpose of outdoor sport, play and recreation.
The playing field, surrounding woodland and pond also have significant nature conservation value. The Friends Group want to ensure the local community recognises and benefits from the opportunities available on the playing field and would like your help and input to achieve this.
It will take many Friends with many skills to make the King George V Playing Field an essential and vibrant central place for all the surrounding communities to use and enjoy.
Look out for KGV Friends Group posters on local notice boards for news of events and café opening times. Members of the group will be at the cafè, which will be open on match days with hot food and drinks available.
King George V Friends Group is supported by Mole Valley District Council, Circle Housing Mole Valley and the LINKS partnership.
